Making the stickers yourself can be a fun and rewarding experience. Here are the differences between DIY stickers and the ones I sell:
For Sale | DIY | |
---|---|---|
Sticker Shape | Starburst | Circular (because no one has time to cut 18 right angles per sticker) |
Sticker backing | Recyclable | Not recyclable |
Sticker sheet | Five different colorful starburst patterns🤤 | Plain white |
Cost | 1 sheet: $18 2 sheets: $25 3 sheets: $30 | $17 (assuming this 10 pack) |
Time | Less than 5 minutes? | About 25–30 mins per sheet |
Emotional investment | ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ | Through the roof! |
The Steps
The first step is to purchase Eco-Friendly Avery #94268 8-1/2" x 11" Blank Rectangle Labels, which are only available from Avery.com. Be sure to choose EcoFriendly Matte White Paper from the Material dropdown.
All 450YRS assets are available to download from this asset repository, but if you’re looking for the quickstart version, just download this PDF.
Note that these templates are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, so as long as you’re using the templates for personal and not commercial purposes, you’re good.
As an aside, one of the reasons I can’t allow commercial use of the templates is because it would be very easy for anyone to make the same product using cheap, vinyl (plastic) non-ecologically friendly paper, and sell it for cheaper–can’t have that!
Print out the template and cut out each individual sticker along the dotted lines.
Once you have your stickers, start sticking and posting pics to social media! Don’t forget to tag the appropriate company in your post like so: Hey @corporation, we need better options! #450yrs
And add a #diy tag to your post–you’ve earned it!
